Yup, tomorrow I’ll be celebrating Father’s Day for the 2nd year! We’re having a BBQ over at our house. I’m going to grill up some alligator and Katherine is making crabby patties. Katherine’s father will be cooking either lamb chops or steaks. We received our economic stimulus payment check – that will come in handy especially since we’re going out of town in a couple of weeks and need to get the a/c checked out in Volvo. Last weekend we went out to an Indian restaurant which had a really good buffet. Next weekend we plan on having a driveway sale on Saturday so hopefully we’ll be able to get rid of some unused items.

Just one more day!
Saturday, June 14th, 2008And along comes Friday!
Friday, March 28th, 2008Well, thankfully Friday has arrived. The week could have been better (at least for my wallet).
Volvo (1989 Volvo Station Wagon) got sick. We had to take her to the Volvo Service Center to get checked out. Well, $1200.00!!! later she’s back on the road. Over $800.00 in parts alone!
Note to self, don’t buy foreign vehicles (no matter what the intial price) or at least find a repair shop that understands a workingman’s budget. I’m raising a baby and feeding a mommy on a single income.
It’s got to be certainly the start of a good weekend since the week was kinda rough. For dinner tonight you will find that, yes indeed, Lily Likes Spaghetti a bunch! We’re all going (including Katherine’s father) fishing Sunday at Dockery Lake in the North Georgia Mountains. For Sunday, the high is looking around the mid-50s with cloudy skies. That should be just find to swarm those trout and any catfish that may come along. I purchased my fishing license online today (yes, with a trout stamp). Now that we bought a $100 deep freezer (from Home Depot a year or so ago), we have ample room for killings of all sorts!
Happy Easter!
Monday, March 24th, 2008To celebrate Easter, Katherine, Lily, and I went to Gimza Polish Restaurant in Norcross, GA. We had cutlets, croquettes, pierogies, potato puree, mizeria, poppy seed cake and honey cake. It was tasty indeed. Saturday we went over to Katherine’s sister’s house and met up with everyone for a BBQ which consisted of chicken and shrimp as the main course. Yes, it was a weekend of feasting.
Praise be to Saints…
Monday, March 17th, 2008Well, we were able to both celebrate St. Patrick’s Day and mourn all in one night. Rod always said he liked Harp so I couldn’t deny him one (or was it two) last pleasures and some Bushmills to assist.
Baby had a hot dog, fries, and pickle. Mommy had a portabello mushroom sandwich. Daddy had a beer brat with homemade potato chips and a pickle!
Where do I start!
Monday, March 17th, 2008Several bad things happened in the past couple of days. Friday night, downtown Atlanta was hit by a tornado. View the damage here. Saturday morning, Lily busted open the lining that connects her upper gums to her upper lip. Katherine had to rush her to the hospital since she was bleeding a lot. She seems to be OK now although her breath is stinky so there may be a bacterial infection happening. She’s going to the doctors’ office this afternoon for a follow up visit. I worked 5 hours Saturday morning and early afternoon so I wasn’t around for Lily’s pain and suffering. Then, Sunday night, Rod Godfrey, a guy I regularly went to lunch with at work was killed along with his older son in a head-on collision. His wife and younger son had sustained injuries. Hernandez, the driver of the other vehicle was going the wrong way on the interstate when the two cars collided.
