Happy Presidents’ Day

February 18th, 2008

In celebration of Presidents’ Day, I have a movie suggestion for y’all. It’s Bob Roberts. A good political satire for your viewing pleasure. Nothing major happened this past weekend. Ran a couple of errands. We ate lunch at Zesto’s on Ponce de Leon in Atlanta Saturday. Sunday we just stayed in since there was supposed to be a strong storm but it weakened by the time it got to our area. I’m off today but I had to install a CPU fan at one of my customer’s computers so that got me out of the house while Katherine and Lily did a little food shopping at Kroger.

Valentine’s Day Dinner

February 15th, 2008

The three of us went to our favorite Valentine’s Day eatery – Chateau Elan’s Versailles Restaurant. It’s a large buffet with really good eats. Entrees included Striped Bass, Prime Rib, Salmon, Veal, Lamb, and Chicken. The Striped Bass was seared and very tasty. I had it all but the Salmon and Chicken. Lily liked the Bass, Truffle Mashed Potatoes, and Braised Red Cabbage with Apples. I wanted to take a picture of all of our plates but Katherine suggested it would be rather low rent. I think it’s totally worth it to drop a c-note once a year to munch on some fine fare.

To some…

I reckon to some the weekend may well be now beginning. I worked an 8 hour shift and then had to go out moonlighting for an hour. I’m also having to work tomorrow (Saturday). Luckily I am able to collect a fee appropriate to my travelings. It’s nice to come home to a loving wife and child when it’s all said and done, not to mention rum and coke waiting for me as well.

Busy weekend!

February 4th, 2008

Had to come into work Saturday for 5 hours. Did a little yard work after that. Decided to battle with Charter about slow cable modem speeds. Spent 2 hours talking with 3 different people. Turns out that my CompUSA router was dying a slow death and it was about time to retire it. Sunday we went to Best Buy and picked up a Netgear router with wireless built in for $40. Set up was easy and we were up and running in no time. To celebrate we decided to go to the new bowling alley just a couple of miles from the house. I thought the place would be packed since Superbowl 42 was going on but there were plenty of lanes open. Lily liked the colored lights in bowling alley alot.

Easy goin’ Sunday.

Took an hour nap around 12:30pm. We went to Applebee’s for lunch and refreshments. Started and rode the Harley. Pulled the battery (since it was dead) out of the SilverWing and put it on charge. I guess the leaves around the house can wait until it’s a little warmer out – or at least until it’s another burn day. Making a fire in the fireplace now so we can be cozy in the front room.
